Meet Our Guides

John joined the BBRT team in 1998 after being drawn here by the Park's Hot Springs. A lover of nature, he has an interest in many fields, so be prepared to have plants, animals and geologic formations pointed out. His fascination with history can help bring a new appreciation to the area. His hobbies include reading, hiking, boating and cooking. He enjoys working with people and interacting with our clients. Jason started with Big Bend River Tours in 1992. He is a year round resident of Terlingua.  His enthusiasm for the outdoors and for this desert is what brought him here.  He was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. Since the 1980's he has been coming to the Big Bend and fascinated its rich history, geology, flora and fauna.  Jason lives on one of Terlingua area's original homestead ranches, where today they ranch by raising cattle and horses. He has been called a walking encyclopedia by many of our clients.  His passion for cooking, fishing and always learning about the Big Bend make him a great guide for the Big Bend area. He loves working for BBRT because of the extensive training all our guides receive, for the safety standards we uphold, and for the quality of trips we provide. One of the most interesting parts of his job is meeting people like you and sharing the experience of your river trip.
