Employment

Thank you for your interest in employment with our company...

Big Bend River Tours is a full service outfitter, in continuous operation in the beautiful Big Bend Country for over two decades.  Our location, on the border of Mexico, allows us to operate Year-round.  We offer guided oar raft, paddle raft, canoe and inflatable kayak trips as well as hiking, backpacking, vehicle tours, state and national park tours.

We're always looking for experienced or trainee guides for all  activities listed above, as well as shuttle drivers.  Guides are paid by the trip and  shuttle drivers are paid by the hour.
All guides, whether trainees or experienced, will be expected to complete our company training program, which complies with state and national park requirements.  Most experienced guides will need only a week or two to complete the required basic training.  New guides must expect on going training for at least the first three months, although qualification to do our easiest trip is attainable within the first week or so.  All guides are expected to have basic river equipment or purchase them upon arrival.
Guides must have current certification in CPR and a 40 hour wilderness advance first aid course.  Terlingua has classes in January, yearly.

Please do not bring your pets or children to our boathouse.  It is prohibited due to insurance requirements.  Be aware that this is a drug free workplace and random drug testing may be done.
If you would like further information or to apply for a position, please apply online, call us at 432-371-3033, or email us at rapids317@hotmail.com.

Sincerely,
